How does JUVEDERM^® work?
JUVEDERM^® Injectable Gel is made of hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in skin, joints and cartilage. JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel is a soft, clear substance that is entirely bio-degradable.

JUVEDERM® has been approved by the Federal Drug Administration as a safe and effective anti-aging therapy. It is manufactured using a patented smooth gel consistency technology and a high degree of cross-linking. Because of these manufacturing changes, JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel is smoother and creates less swelling and redness upon injection.

Immediately following the injection, an ice pack will be placed on your face to soothe your skin and minimize the potential for bruising or swelling. You may have some redness or swelling at the injection sit, but this usually dissipates rapidly and most patients return to work immediately following the procedure. If you have had lip enhancement injections, swelling may be more pronounced and last a bit longer. The improvement in your appearance is immediate and will last for about a year.
